The United States' Grand Strategy and the New Administration

Dr. Andrew L. Ross

Dr. Ross is Director of the Center for Science, Technology, and Policy, and Professor in the Department of Political Science, at the University of New Mexico. Prior to that, he had been Professor of Strategic Studies (2000-2005), and Professor of National Security Affairs (1991-2000) at the Naval War College, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Kentucky (1986-1990). He has been a consultant to The Rand Corporation, and a Visiting Assistant Professor at Vassar College. He has been author, co-author or editor of some 37 monographs, articles and chapters, generally dealing with defense policy and the international arms trade, and 23 conference and workshop papers. Dr. Ross holds a BA degree in political science from American University (1976), and MA and PhD degrees from Cornell University (1981, 1984). His research and teaching interests are in theory and practice of international relations, international and regional security affairs, national security and defense policy and planning, arms control, military technology, international arms markets, and related fields.
